An Apostle is ‘One Who is Sent’ …. sent to fulfill a task.
Jesus was sent - by the Father… to fulfill a task.
Jesus prayed constantly, fasted, sacrificed, taught and healed;
Jesus spread Love and Truth: He is Love and Truth.
Jesus appointed 12 Apostles to carry on His work;
established His Church to lead and guide us,
instituted the Sacraments to cleanse, nourish and sustain us,
and gave us the example of His life – how we should live.
The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church,
its Bishops, priests and religious
continue the work; the work of Christ;
spreading the kingdom.
There’s one apostle whom many people afford very little recognition:
MARY, the Immaculate, the Perpetual Virgin,
Who nourished the infant church after the Ascension,
and who continues her quest for souls - for her children,
even now, as Queen and Mother, in heaven.
This perfect Apostle, Mary, the Mother of God and our mother,
One who is sent, every moment of every day,
By Jesus and the Father to return wayward sheep to the flock
MARY NEEDS HELP!
Yes, MARY is asking ….. NO! – PLEADING!! for YOU and me,
to help save souls; the souls of her children (humanity),
from the clutches of satan.
Who, ME ? … an Apostle ?
Consider these words of MARY, (excerpted) from the writings of
Fr. Emile Neubert (“My Ideal – Jesus, Son of Mary”)
Mary: “The Redemption is not yet fully accomplished. The grace of salvation, merited for all on Calvary, must still be applied to each man as he comes into this world. Such is my mission until the end of time.’
‘With Jesus, I worked at the general redemption of men; with Jesus I must work at their conversion and sanctification. I must snatch each soul from satan, in order to lead it to Jesus and to the Father.’
‘The last age of the church shall be more my age than any other. You shall see marvels operated by me and for me. You shall see satan crushed to the earth by the heel of a woman – crushed as he never was before.’
‘Such is my part in the mystery that I wish to reveal to you. And now,
HERE IS YOUR PART:
• I need auxiliaries and soldiers;
• Do you wish to be my soldier.. to aid me in rescuing my children.. to share in the victory reserved for me?;
• You have given yourself entirely to me; consecrated your body and soul, your thoughts, words and deeds;
• Now that you understand how I wish to use your person and your powers, are you going to retract your consecration?
• Jesus has likewise called you to be my child of predilection, so that you, too, may become a savior of souls. You must either become an apostle, therefore, or renounce the honor on being my child of predilection.’
“You are resolved to be my apostle …. but you wonder how you can succeed. The first preachers of the Gospel converted countless multitudes with amazing rapidity, and all because there burned in them the sacred flame of apostolic zeal. You must kindle this flame
in your soul.”
“How? … Come, follow me to Calvary. Place yourself next to me and look at Jesus Crucified. See His body trembling under those frightful tortures. Above all, see His soul, a prey to agony a thousandfold more frightful. What is it that fills Him with that infinite desolation? It is, to a great extent, the vision of countless men for whom He is shedding His blood in vain…. because they will resist the call of grace – in vain, also, because those who should continue the saving work of Redemption in their behalf, will neglect their charge.’
“Listen! Jesus is speaking: ‘Woman, behold thy son … behold thy mother.’ It is to me and to you that He is speaking….. ‘Woman behold thy son…… he will aid you to save your children – children who, without his help, would be eternally lost. He will lead those poor erring creatures back to you. He will help you in your apostolic mission, and bring consolation to us both.’”
“Oh! may the spectacle of Calvary haunt you, pursue you relentlessly. May the cry of the dying Christ and the sighs of your suffering mother resound night and day in your ears. Then, you will really get to be an apostle.’
“Listen, again! ‘I thirst! I thirst in My body; I thirst, above all, in My heart. Will he who replaces Me at My Mother’s side, give me the souls I crave?’”
